morning, an east bay boy is dead after being mauled by a dog. the dog attack happened at a home on elizabeth way in union city yesterday. kpix 5 reporter anne makovec is in the neighborhood this morning with more. >> reporter: very tragic story. a 6-year-old boy died here in union city yesterday morning after being attacked by a dog. we are waiting for more details this morning from union city police, but we have confirmed the death, apparently the boy was attacked by the dog, a pit bull or pit bull mix. the boy was taken to lucille packard children's hospital yesterday afternoon where he died. the pit bull has been taken into custody, which is normal after an incident like this. there is usually a waiting period where it is determined whether or not the dog is a danger to society. but this family dealing with a terrible tragedy this morning. anne makovec, kpix 5. >>> a nurse may have been saved by a device she was wearing when she was attacked at work. it happened sunday night at napa state hospital. kpix 5 has learned the suspect is believed to be 38-year-old kevin long. long was arrested in the death last september fo
