this is day one of the dreamforce conference at the moscone center. organizers are calling it the biggest artificial intelligence themed conference in the world. salesforce, which runs the conference, says about 45,000 people registered for this even. that's about 5000 more than last year. attendees say they've heard the doomsday worry and warnings about ai, and now they're looking forward to conversations about how to use the trendy tech for business. oh, i just want to learn more about how to use them. the best way to test it and make sure we have quality for our customers. so the conference also includes a big charity concert every yea, and this year the headliners will be pink and imagine dragons. conference runs through thursday. san francisco state launched a brand new college this fall with the goal of educating students for the future of tech. administrators say the goal is not only about preparing students for the jobs of tomorrow, but also for the ethical challenges that come with them. nbc bay area's ian cull talked with administrators and

the city started closing down streets around moscone center last week. there will also be a heavy police presence in the area and the city is expecting a $93 million economic boost from that conference. parents and teachers in san francisco are waiting to hear what schools may close, will need to wait a little bit longer. sfusd superintendent matt wayne says the district will hold off on their closure decisions until they see a fiscal analysis. list of closures was supposed to be released last wednesday. the district says a budget deficit and declining enrollment is behind potential school closures and not clear how many schools may be on that list. the city of oakland is suing its school district alleging they refused to pay more than $1 million in school board election related costs. oakland city attorney barbara parks said the law is clear that ousd is responsible for paying the cost of the 2023 special election, that it called to fill a vacancy on the board and for paying its fair share of other election costs. we reached out to the district for comm
