mount diablo a two inches 4/10. n the napa area in the north bay reporting a five inches or so. most of our urban areas, though oakland more than half inch reported at oakland airport. some areas of oakland reporting a little bit more than that, almost an inch sfo, san jose reporting three quarters of an inch. but it's still coming. here's a view of what we're seeing out there right now, widespread along our coastline, our north bay, widespread scattered showers, central and south bay in and out of a few isolated showers in the center of the storm is going to kind of take its time passing through. you may even notice you've got some lightning strikes right here over the northern section of california. so the most unstable air is right about in here. and that has to move through before it pushes off to the east. and we turn dry into wednesday. the future cast here will give you an idea, you know, 10:00 in the morning. we've got the reds and the oranges. that's indicating the risk of thunderstorms. so get into the afte

same over at oakland in the 60's, mount diablo and point raise 75 to 77 miles an hour.some damaging winds here. you can see why we've had all that trouble and we're still dealing with the wind. so this is going to be the main threat, if you can, because we are concerned about going forward. so 33 miles an hour in san francisco at this 10:00pm hour. and then it looks like inland. we've have dow dipped down to the teens at 12 in hayward, but still pretty breezy along the coastline. we did just extend national weather service extended that wind advisory and high wind warning until 08:00am tomorrow actually supposed to expire right about now. so still some wind gusts up to 20 to 30 miles an hour. gusts up to 40 to 60 miles an hour. the gusts stronger along the coastline and then wind advisory is really i'm just inland here. but still some damaging winds. i know several customers, hundreds of thousands right now to bay area are without power. and here the rain totals the last 24 hours. so about almost 4 inches in the north bay, santa cruz, mountains, boulder creek, and marin

mount diablo is 36 degrees blue. that is cold for this time of year and that along you get some some sun that's going to provide some lift. and i think there will be some scattered shower, maybe an isolated thunder shower today, a lot of 40s, couple of 30s. well to the north, 30 in truckee, south lake tahoe, 2645 crescent city, 46 in monterey and 53 in la. but that's not the story. the story is the third highest two day total, 703 on rainfall for la and it's still look at that. still coming down. there are some areas in the hills now over a foot of rain, and it's still raining from santa barbara to la. starting to slide more a little more southward. but anywhere from about 6 to 12in of rain has fallen for many there. look at that, man. that's just a fire hose slowly moving. but as that low moves in, it's going to enhance the rainfall for us. we'll have a quick little mover from the northwest tomorrow it will be a cold front. so let's make sure we get that out there. but it will give us rain again. and then after that

at mount diablo, 79. here is the other thing about the wind and why we likely saw so many trees come down. not only the strength of the wind but the wind was coming out of the south. prevailing winds are normally from the north and the west. trees usually below in a certain direction but you take that wind and you turn it the opposite way out of the south, that is why we did get a lot of trees snapping. it they are just not to bending in that direction. look at the snow totals. 2-4 inches in santa cruz, san ramon 1.85 in san jose 1.67 inches. we have a flood watch out for parts of the bay. creeks are running fast and high so be careful. on the radar, most of the heavy rain is gone and we just have a few areas across contra costa and alameda counties. this will continue into tracy over the next few hours. in fairmont we will see activity over the next 40 minutes. in the southbay there are scattered areas of rain. we will take you through the full-time line and we will detail a major change in the weather c

i'm not even sure i see mount diablo there, but i'm told it's there.r walnut creek camera. mark is back now and mark really the whole reason why we're talking about this? because it is just a smaller system, but it's the first in a line of systems set to make its way through the bay area. yeah, definitely a pattern change, heather. >> and yeah, this first system, the main front, is actually coming on board right now. so as a result, there will be an uptick in the rainfall rates, at least in the short tum for portions of the bay area before it eventually eventually slide on to the south. but take a look here at the rainfall totals. i will note up in the north bay, santa rosa did have a big jump in rainfall just over the past hour or so. they're up to about a half an inch of rain. kentfield is up 2.51, so the significant rain has been kind of focused up in the north bay. elsewhere not so much. orinda a 10th of an inch. san francisco only 0.08. san jose finally, measurable rainfall at .02. so you can see these storms stacking up offshore. the first one is

degrees in half moon bay, 64 from our east bay hills, we're looking at nothing but clear skies over mount diablo, and we're still seeing some 70s out there in santa rosa at 72 petaluma. one of the cooler spots at 66 napa and fairfield at 70. concord and livermore in the upper 60s. so temperatures are about 1 to 7 degrees warmer than we were at this time yesterday. tomorrow things are going to change up, though, and it was a great day to head to the beach in santa cruz. so tonight the clear conditions continue. we'll see mild temperatures tomorrow. it's going to be cooler with more clouds and that comes ahead of some light showers which arrive in the bay area monday. but it's not looking like much at this point, so the clouds will fill in overnight. tomorrow morning will wake up to temperatures in the 40s and low 50s around the bay, so cloudy conditions with sunrise at 648, but it will still be another nice day to head outside and temperatures will be mild. if you're heading to the black joy parade tomorrow in oakland, we will hit the 60s by lunchtime. even though it starts off a little bit more

afternoon when lafayette police responded to a report of a robbery at a fast food restaurant on mount diablo boulevard. not long after, officials say an officer located the suspect vehicle on highway 24 and they sped off on camino pablo towards el sobrante. the contra costa county sheriff's office says the car then lost traction and crashed into another car that was driving in the opposite direction. a police car was also involved in the crash. two suspects were taken into custody. both have multiple warrants out for their arrest, and the seven year old child of the driver was also in the car, so both suspects now face charges that include child endangerment and robbery. >> new video of some of the latest car break ins in oakland. this was near fourth in madison by jack lennon square. the break ins happening overnight involving at least five vehicles. one of the victims calling the situation frustrating and hope something more can be done about car break ins in oakland. police say there were more than 13,000 of them just last year. >> new developments tonight in the search for a new oakland

and now i'm in 85 miles per hour in the santa cruz mountains point gray's 77 miles an hour and mount diablo. just 75 miles an hour. and oakland and mountain lena hat man say tele high 62 61 miles an hour or so. very dangerous winds. and that seems to be that threat going forward because now that are heavy precipitation is more. and then it has now transitioned to convection road, which is we could see isolated scattered thunderstorms, which is what the activity we saw today towards the afternoon and even right now. so current wind speeds 28 miles an hour and point raise 16. it's francisco so i have scaled back for now, but we will be still dealing with those winds, at least through the overnight because a wind advisory in the high wind warning have been extended until tomorrow. 08:00am so wind speeds 20 to 30 miles an hour during your morning commute. gusts up to 40 to 60 miles an hour. damaging winds here. throughout the overnight and into the morning. and here is the last 24 hours. you could see this storm and take a look. it is just so significant. we haven't seen something like this. ac

mount diablo, 83. the marin headlands, slightly above 80 miles per hour. those peak wind gusts arrived mid-afternoon today. look at the map behind me. 6:00 through 10:00, we are still in that 40 to 50-mile-per-hour range for those peak wind gusts. but after 11:00 tonight, notice how the wind speeds come down. high wind warning currently expected to expire at 10:00 tonight. but the radar view still active. we've got downpours and those high wind gusts along the coast, approaching santa cruz, more areas of rain heading into the north bay. flood watches will last longer, until about 10:00 monday morning. a little bit of good news is the river levels. last night we were tracking the guadalupe river at almaden. did not get to flood stage, topping out in the action stage there. right now not expected to reach flood stage as we head through this evening. but, again, regional flood watches still ongoing until 10:00 tomorrow morning. coming up, we'll talk about the complete timeline on when those winds start to leave the bay area and the risk for severe thunderstor
