tonight, tornado flipped over his truck on mount hermon road. this is video of him in 2022. while we don't see that right now giving updates at a local fire, but you can see the force of that tornado right there. jeff joins me now to talk a little bit more. so i've heard you say throughout the day an ef one. tell me a little bit about the power of that and the kind of destruction we're talking 90 mile an hour winds. is that true? that's winds at 90. i mean, just looking at that video, you could see how frightening it would have been. just the way that tornado was rotating and just moving so quickly. and what i wanted to show everybody is the key thing we needed in order for that to happen. whenever you get a tornado, you needd this kind ofa setup or similar setup. we had strong surface winds 50 to 70mph coming out of the west northwest, but we had strong upper level winds at 150 plus miles per hour coming directly out of the west. so that's wind up where the airplanes fly. so both of those powerful winds moving in different directions creates what's known as wind shear. you

a number of the stoplights on mount hermon road still are not working. we have seen crews still clearin branches and trying to assess damage here before the rain rolled in. but at the same time, other people were counting their blessings. we were here working actually, and we have a bunch of customers here and we saw, i mean, the wind. so i ran outside because the door opened by itself. that's norma corona. we talked with her. she owns auntie mame's cafe in scotts valley and has for more than 30 years. and on saturday afternoon, it was full of people, many of whom were in that cafe because they didn't have power at home. it's less than a half mile from where that ef one tornado touched down on saturday, and i saw how the trees i mean when like you and i say, oh my gosh. so yeah, i'm just we lost just umbrellas and they flipped two tables. but other than that we're fine. other people definitely were not as lucky as the tornado flipped cars, tore down power lines and trees, and even ripped one person out of their car and also ripped one woman's roof off. p
