lions. we'll tell you why. >>> three people had to be rescued they fell 500 feet. another man climbing nearby also fell. portland mountain rescue crew was doing training and was able to jibingly jump into action. two climbers were taken to the hospital. the third wasn't seriously hurt. >>> the coast guard had to rescue five people from a sinking boat off the coast of monterey. it started 8:00 yesterday morning after the coast guard received the boat's distress call. a nearby tanker ship also responded and helped block seas and wind until rescuers arrived. the coast guard had to also launch two helicopters, one from san francisco, and the other from los angeles as we mentioned. none of the five people on board the 65-foot boat were hurt. >>> another five people stranded off the coast of north carolina had to be rescued by the coast guard. it happened friday after the mast on the boat broke. this video shows coast guard helicopter hovering over the boat as rescue crews tried to save all those on board. luckily no one was hurt and crews were able to bring all five of the passengers back on shore to safety. >>> scientists sa
