mr. speaker. i rise today to honor a vietnam veteran staff sergeant keith nsby who finally received an air medal and his purple heart for injuries sustained in battle 54 years ago. as mr. ornsby's representative in congress, i had the privilege of pinning him with the purple heart and personally thanking him for his dedicated service to our country during a special ceremony that tooklace on our nation's independence day. on january 3 1970, while leading his platoon through the vietnamese jungle, and unloading a helicopter at a landing zone, mr. ornsby's unit was ambushed, resulting in him being shotnd wounded. due to the chaotic nate of thymes, the paperwork for his purple heart was never processed and he was air evaked out of vietnam immediately. thanks to the dedicated efforts of the v.a., we were finally able to proper recognize this hero. i -- properly recognize this hero. i ask my colleagues in joining me to honor mr. ornsby in expressing our gratitude to the v.a. for their exceptional work. g

mr. speaker. mr. speaker, i rise today to remember the life and legacy of timothy paul dobos of pennsylvania. tim died on july 11 after a courageous 10-year battle with a.l.s. he was just 36. tim was a marine corps veteran, he worked as an electronic warfare analyst with the second radio battalion, was deployed to kuwait with the 22nd marine expeditionary unit. in 2010, when earthquakes devastated haiti, tim assisted in relief efforts, earning him a humanitarian service medal. tim rose to the rank of lance corporal before being honorably discharged in 2012. in april, 2014, tim was diagnosed with a.l.s., but that diagnosis didn't slow him down. in 2018 tim earned a degree in applied physics. i was fortunate enough to call tim a friend. his contagious personality brought happiness to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. he lived a life dedicated to service and caring for others. i offer my deepest condolences to tim's wife, robin, their sons, and his family. knowing tim was a blessing and having him
