mr. thomas, but also the man in july 2010 was videoing officer hampton arresting someone at which point theto him, slaps the camera out of his hand, the camera falls to the ground, someone else picks it up and that's awhen the video shows the officer roughing up mr. mann. but again a jury found him not guilty. >> sounds like the pressure is building to hold someone accountable here. >> yes. indeed. we are looking that as early as monday -- >> as early as monday? >> as early as monday we're hearing the orange county coroner will release that autopsy report, finally giving us a cause of death, sending it over to the district attorney and maybe as early as next week, the next two weeks, we could find out whether or not these officers will be charged in the death of kelly thomas. >> and the police chief, just want to make sure i'm correct on this, has extended his paid medical leave, is that correct? >> yes. >> do we know why that is? >> very he interesting. he went out on medical leave saying he had high blood pressure are. that is according to sources within the city government. he's been off

mr. thomas you may recognize him playing for the atlanta hawks and he does writing for us on cnn.com. in which he defends the president. good to have you here, my man. we know the president, presidents get criticized smiley and west have strong criticism. so what is wrong with that? >> well, i definitely have the utmost respect for dr. west and mr. smiley. so this wasn't a personal attack on them at all. i wouldn't try to discredit the me messenger. i don't think the president has turned his back on the black community at all. i look at the specific things he has been able to accomplish through health care and education and job creation and, you know, the evidence just doesn't support the accusation that he just has turned his back altogether. >> when you hear them, you hear them saying he's not just not doing enough, but you hear them saying he's doing nothing or like you said turning his back? >> yes. you know, and the thing is i understand the frustration. i mean, i paid attention to their poverty tour. i read the accounts of them staying with homeless people and, you know, we have

mr. thomas, do you feel at all comforted by those words from the police department? >> no, not at all. many times. to keep them on paid administrative leave is ludicrous. does that mean the other four? does that mean all six? it is kind of unclear at this point. so that's why i'm driving it forward to make sure something happens to these other four administratively, at least. i'm not settling for anything here except complete justice for my son. >> and it would be ludicrous to have these officer that are charged with murder and involuntary manslaughter to be on paid leave. they shouldn't be paid at all. >> do you trust that the district attorney's office will thoroughly be able to investigate what indeed happened that night? >> well, i feel very comfortable with it. i've worked with the d.a.'s lead investigator from day one. i think he has done a fantastic job. speaking with him and his staff, i have a lot of confidence in them right now. >> this will be a long ordeal. this trial won't just come around a corner in 60 days. the defendant can make it happen quickly because he has speedy
