mr. alfred yee right outside of a senior center and i'm going to ask about the other police stations and are there goals so that they can also meet the citation's goals like the richmond station has been doing? >> absolutely. right. it's the goal of the san francisco police department to focus on those five categories and like i mentioned before, all of those five are identified through the statewide system don't necessarily apply to every different police district in the city so i'm working right now to identify the best most appropriate collision factors to focus on and in a couple of districts it may be pedestrian focussed and that's what the data is showing now and probably at the next quarterly meeting i'll have the exact data of each specific district and station and again, we're all focusing on those five -- are we obtaining the goal today? not necessarily so there's a mere i there's an miriad of reasons we may not reach the goal and you know that and whether it's our presence being the crime prevention factor things like that. >> i want to acknowledge captain silver man's efforts

mr. yee, a richmond resident who was tragically killed. i thank mayor lee and ed reiskin for joining me. despite our efforts at vision zero, which aims to stop all pedestrian deaths by 2020, mr. alfred yee was an 87-year-old richmond district resident. as he provided through the crosswalk on geary boulevard he was struck by a driver of a van making a left turn from 26th avenue. mr. yee's son, ben, said that due to unfortunate -- the unfortunate car collision and the speeding -- the speed of the car, his father sustained injuries to his head and legs, as well as internal bleeding. paramedics took him to san francisco general hospital where he was pronounced dead seven hours later. his wife, miss evelyn yee, who is 87-year-old said her husband was always careful in crosswalks. according to the family mr. yee was a healthy gentleman and performed regular exercise including tai chi every morning. he served in the united states air force and then began a career as an architect. for example, one of the buildings that he designed with his construction company in the 1980s was the icon in san bruno, the artichoke jo's casino. he had always been the family's big chef and had a passion for co

mr. maguire but my count from 6-year old sophia liu and new year's eve and new year's day to alfred yee, 87 years old that count gets up to 43 pedestrian deaths not counting vehicle and bicycle deaths. i'm just really anxious that this process to speed up projects and to really focus on key high injury corridors and moved along as quickly as we can and this morning as we were painting stripes on the crosswalks which i think is a really good thing, i'm really interested in how we're going to adequately budget projects and move key strategies forward. you and i talked about safe routes foreseen i for, seniors as a potential model and i'd really appreciate it if you have other ideas of how we speed up challenging the culture of speeding and dangerous driving and how we work not just on the enforcement which is so critical but the engineering and the education to break the culture that's causing these unfortunate deaths of this 87-year old man and others, the 3 this year that have already plagued the city i just wanted to get that off my chest. >> i'm glad you shared that. clearly we we have
