mr. ross or the president. ashley: not at all. stuart: let's move on to barry, the tropical storm. it drenched louisiana but new orleans pretty much dodged a bullet. that would be my opinion. we've got video of crews trying to restore power, trying to get the jouice back to new orleans. jeff flock is in the city right now. what are you seeing? reporter: largely back to normal in some ways. i just want to show you something, sometimes you wonder what your tax dollars go for. $14.6 billion spent on improving the flood wall system. this is what you're looking at. see down there, that's a flood gate there. those swing wide. this one over here, come over here, if you would, these roll across and what it does is it completely shuts you off from the river which -- hey, you see it? okay, great. it rolls right across here and protects the city. there's another that's closed. they have 250 plus of these in the city. they closed them all for the storm and there was not a problem. now they are in the process of reopening them. to tell you, hey, come out here for a second. see this guy here? th

mr. roker. hey, al, good morning. >> let's show you what we're looking at. this system is starting to develop. it's a potential tropical system. hasn't been named yet, but it would be barry. it's moving west at 5 miles per hour. 100% chance of formation. he's are the warnings you've got. first, the track. saturday morning, early morning, it's just off the central louisiana coastline. makes landfall some time during the day on saturdays a category 1 storm and continues up into the mississippi river valley. but in the meantime, untilhat happens, right now, flash flood watches. as you can see, we already have flooding in the area. it's just going to get worse. we also have tropical storm watches. we have storm surge forecasts through saturday night. 3 to 6 feet of storm surge possible because the system could go to the east,o the west of new orleans, and that puts new orleans into that area where we see the heavy rain. infact, anywhere from 10 to 20 inches of rain possible out of this system as ites mak its way in. so we're going to be watching this quake very closely. it hasn't formed yet. ateast not been named yet, but in the meantime, we don't even need that to cause maj

mr. scalise: i thank the gentleman for yielding. i truly appreciate the concern and support and prayers that have been offered and obviously we're all praying for the people of south louisiana, as tropical storm barry approaches in the next 24 hours. we expect landfall, we're surely expecting heavy rain. hopefully, i know as we've talked to local officials from the governor to the mayor of new orleans and other elected officials on the ground, they are prepared, they've asked for different things, including the governor had asked for an emergency declaration. i spoke to president trump yesterday and he did in fact issue that emergency declaration. all of the federal agencies from fema to the corps of engineers to other federal agencies are working well with state and local officials to make sure they have the tools they need. our first priority, of course, is the safety of the people of south louisiana and, as they protect our homes and protect our property, we just encourage them to listen to their local officials and if evacuation orders are issued, we ask those folks to heed those warnings, because it's a serious storm and it's a storm that we are preparing for, but as they say, you prepare for

barry. first, on the topics of the day, secretary acosta will resign. your reaction? >> well, i am not sure it is the right thing to do. but that is mr. acosta's call. unselfish act. i think he was worried it -- i just listen to his interview. i think he's worried. the press won't leave him alone on this ever. even though most of the facts, if not all of them have come out. he doesn't want to distract from his work. i hate to see him go, but it looks to me like a very unselfish acts. >> julie: i want to turn now to bob mueller. he is coming in. july 24th is now the day that he is going to come in. the judiciary committee had originally only allotted two hours. i believe it made two hours to allow junior congress members to ask questions. what do you think the reason is for this delay. so my? >> i don't know. i haven't met mr. mueller. they think that he is smart, may be as smart as my friends that he has appeared all my democratic colleagues are trying to do is pull mueller into the middle of this. get him to take sides. this is what he called and what he saw. no collusion. and on obstruction of justice, what he concluded was i don't know. i'm not s
