mr. bauer: thank you, jen. i just wanted to put into the right frame and perspective what you are hearing about some about trump's claims and lawsuits. i think they are connected. lawsuits are meritless. they are intended to give the trump campaign the opportunity to argue that the vote counts are not going to stop. i want to go into these claims momentarily, but i want to emphasize that for their purposes, these lawsuits do not have to have merit. that is not the purpose. they are not bringing bona fide claims before the courts. it is to create an opportunity for them to message falsely about what is taking place in the electoral process. it is quite remarkable, these elections officials are working overnight, trying to get the count right. and the trump campaign is continually alleging irregularity, failures in the system, and fraud, without any basis. this is part of a broader misinformation campaign that involves some political theater. you may have heard about some loud noises being made b

mr. bauer, i really appreciate you taking the time tonight. thank you. >> it's a pleasure. thank you. >> i know there have been dozens of lawsuits already at various places in terms of their resolution. are you seeing a trend already or some kind of through-line that even us non-lawyers can understand in terms of how the courts are viewing the fights that we're having already over voting procedures and counting ballots? >> you pointed out earlier in the segment that we saw a judge that i'm not sure anybody expected it from go ahead and stand up for voters who had cast 127,000 ballots that the republicans challenged when there was actually no reason to believe there was anything wrong with these votes at all. it was a very technical claim that was lacking in merit. even that judge simply could not put voters in the position where they relied on officials' representations that they could vote a certain way and then sort of somehow allow the republican party to come in and pull the rug out from underneath them. i think we're seeing that increasingly among the courts. they reco

versus the -- you had him on your show last night, mr. bauer.e officials have prepared their constituents and i think the biden campaign has prepared their supporters for a scenario where this doesn't end tonight. you have to think if both campaigns were seeing the same thing in their tracking polls, if both campaigns were talking about these three states, there's not a ton of surprise inside the biden campaign. you also have to look at the fund-raising endeavors that both the trump side and biden campaign have been involved in as of late. they were about a post-election day legal effort. so both campaigns saw this the same way. and the way a staffer sees it is look for the intersections. and both campaigns saw joe biden as having a small edge in these three states. that means donald trump saw his path as likely involving a legal challenge to pa and that's where he's been folkicusing his effor. >> one source of anxiety is with all that's happened, covid, nearly a quarter of a million people dead, the racism, the cuddling nazis, i think for a lot
