mr. benson, this is jacqui jeras.e's a already strong damaging wind event that looks like it passed through cedar rapids. what do you know about that storm and what kind wind damage it may have caused? >> i know personally where i live in des moines, it's the hardest i've ever seen it blow there and i've been there 20 years. so i would anticipate as people get out from underneath the storms, we'll see damage reports develop. but no contermed reports yet this evening. >> i want to ask about creston, iowa, the hospital. mr. benson, tell me about the hospital. is this a picture of the hospital? this is a picture of the hospital. >> that's what it looks like before the damage. >> listen, what is the deal? what are you hearing about this hospital in creston? >> it wasn't a massive structural failure, it was more window type impacts, windows blown out, damage to the roof and that type of thing. i believe the administrators of the facility decided it was safer for the patients to get them out of there and relocate them to ot

mr. bensen. >> brad benson, representing the port and port staff. i want to extend the thanks of the port to mr. martin. he has done an amazing job leading this project effort. i want to thank the event of 40 and raise management, as well. before i get into my presentation, i want to talk about the major change here, which is switching from a development model to a capital project delivery model. we did put a lot of time in putting this together, and i think the port staff has found that that had a set of development opportunities that would create great improvements in the south beach area of a waterfront consistent with the waterfront plan. that said, we do understand that it was a very expensive investment. there was a great risk involved in that, and the development discussion had started to overshadow what should have been the proper focus, which was the event. and i want to say that i think it is a testament to the strong planning effort that happened over the past year that with the event authority and race management and city staff, we were a

mr. benson's presentation, there's an mmrp being approved today, mitigation monitoring and reporting program. as before in the first deal, d.d.a. that you saw there is a separate agreement between the city and event authority as to responsible for those mitigation measures. that's been modified a little in thyme around in part because probably the mosting significant modification is because the event authority is not going to be doing programming in national park service lands at crissy field or aquatic park, the city will take the lead on the relationship to make sure that those parks have an adequate staffing and have an appropriate commitment from the city to strore those parks once the events are over. we're continuing to dialogue with the national park service in conjunction with their nepa compliance process. but we're very much looking forward to completing that in the next few weeks. sime here to answer questions. but i want to compliment the work of the port staff and everyone else in the city to get us here today and also our partners at the event authority. thanks. >> thank you, m
