was so upset they weren't linking the two girls, and amanda berry's mother reached out to me and said she has been listed as a run-away. i know, mrwalsh, that "america's most wanted" will help me. i know she wasn't a run-away, i can't convince police this. i worked for three years to get the amber alert passed through congress before they made it a national mandated policy that you issue a amber alert when a child goes missing. gina dejesus was never issued as an amber alert. she should have been, she was 14. i am the father of a murdered child and it took me 27 years to get the hollywood police to open my son's case and let me bring in outside investigator named joe matthews and a d.a., kelly hancock, who solved 300 murder cases and had an impeccable track record. and in one month, they solved adam's case. i love cops, but, boy, when they make mistakes, they need to man up and admit them and do a better job. maybe that's the lesson we learn out of this horrible, horrible thing. and this guy, he's not just a predator. he's not just a child abuser or sexual abuser. he beat these women so badly that michelle knight was pregnant fiv

mr. murphy called the alleged offenses "premeditated, deliberate, and depraved." and just how depraved is made woefully clear. in police reports from the night amanda berry, gina dejesus, and michelle knight were all rescued from that horror house. dr. drew pinsky and lisa bloom are going to join me with much more on that just minutes from now. we are in phoenix as well. two big breaking stories. five hours now, the aggravation phase of the jodi arias murder trial is set to begin and that's when the prosecution is going to try to prove that travis alexander's murder was especially cruel, and those words are crucial. especially cruel and warrants the death penalty. we're going to get into more of that in just a moment. first, though, this is arias's reaction as the verdict was read in open court. guilty of first-degree murder. and all 12 jurors agreed it was premeditated. a short time after the verdict came down, she spoke exclusively to ksaz fox reporter, troy hayden. let's listen. >> i said years ago that i would rather get death. i believe death is the ultimate freedom, so i'd rather just have my freedom as soon as i can get it. >> so you're saying you

mr. castro, if he is the one who wrote this letter, actually picked up the girls. first michelle in 2002. at a family drugstore. then amanda berryars old, and then gina dejesus. he captured both of them by just asking them if they would like a ride home. in that letter he talks about killing himself. he talks about eventually taking all of his money and giving that money to his victims. he says that basically he's a sexual predator. he's sick. and he has something wrong in his head and he needs help. >> hmm. all of it is just so chilling. as you've been reporting it appears ariel castro actually played favorites with his captives? what do you know about that? >> yeah, i think he did. obviously the first victim in 2002, michelle, she was 20 years old, then a year later, grabbing amanda, and in the letter he talks about why does he have this urge to have another girl in the house when he already has two. then he moved on to amanda berry, and obviously we've heard from relatives that he called amanda his girlfriend. and then, what's really key here, he talks about gina dejesus and says that he didn't even realize how young she was,
