mr. bryant. >> mr. brooks? >> good evening, one more time, green party and local grassroots organization and city. and so it is really awesome to see that this is happening. and i would urge you and caution you to leave yourself plenty of time that night to run late because i don't live in the bay view, but because of my work, i have stood in herings and many other venues side by side with the bay view residents and especially around the toxic waste sites and just i must have been the scores of hearings at city hall and the board of supervisors and other agencies, and san francisco public utilities commission and the residentses of the bay view gets up over and over and over and over again. and raise very serious issues about impacts on their neighborhood. and rarely get listened to. and so you are going into a community that is very frustrated and has not been heard much. and that includes on the votes for things that go down in the neighborhood. and it took, i don't know, how many decades it took to get the w

mr. bryant, any other public comments? >> commissioner stephenson? >> i am just wondering how many graduates graduate thised year in the program? >> so the question was how many graduates from this first wave of graduates? >> we started with a class of ten and i would say, 8 from the first class, we have had 13 total and presently there are 16 apprentices at rec and part. and this is a fabulous program and everybody should be sort of commended for it. i was wondering if there was an opportunity to expand to this other trades that are around, sort of one could also the city could also partner with with the local around other sort of building related activity. >> thank you for your question, commissioner. the apprenticeship, it is kind of standardized by the state department of relations and generally speaking, the construction trades, this situation was very unique because we were able with mayor newsome and lee to sign-off on the apprenticeship that never existed actually it does not recognize the journey level that we represent, they recognize a dif

mr. bryant was talking about. and that is one of the reasons, that we made, what really is it, very significant change in the way that the lease is structured by having the maintenance, taken on by the port itself. and when the ownership transfers to the port to try to make responding to these opportunity more financially feasible all kinds of organizations. and not just organizations with very deep pockets. and as far as what that financial capacity would be, it really is going to depend on the programs that particular proposer is suggesting and so what they are going to need to to show us is that they have enough financial capacity to meet the minimum criteria the four days a week and the submit the operations and the program plan and show us that you can pay for it basis basically and so we are trying to make this as accessible as possible. >> if i am not mistaken when we did this project and ledge did take over and that we did give them some type of help financially? >> ledge, built the building, entirely with
