mr. bryant. our next applicant will be renae steichen. >> hello, good morning and thank you for having me here today. i am applying for seat 6 on the energy efficiency committee. just a little background about myself, i have an educational background in environmental policy and a master's in public policy. i lived for a number of years in washington, dc, working for the federal government and as a consultant for the government on energy and environmental policy issues, mostly for internal programs and also with the department of energy on some of their programs. i've lived in the san francisco bay area for 3 years, in the city for the past two years, and at my current job at collaborative economics which is a company in san mateo, i manage the (inaudible) related to economic development. it's an economic strategy and policy analysis company. we work in the state and across the nation working on industry and innovation reports including in the areas of energy and also with directed technical assis

mr. bryant's seat. we were working off the draft of the ordinance up until the past year. up until the past couple days we had a draft that said candidate recommended by oewd late in the stage of the legislation it was added director of oewd and our committee is kind of honed by the city administrator, who may have sent a communication, i know there was a letter sent by the folks of oewd, the director will probably come within the next couple of days, you could even forward mr. bryant's day to the full board without recommendation in expectation of that letter's arrival. >> chair avalos, cis rod rod, department of the environment. i'm not here speaking specifically of any of the candidates but the ordinance does require the technical support of this committee and i wanted to stress from our perspective the importance of moving forward. we think the bredth and scope of these individuals is really important, having these kind of community experts in the field in support of what our department is doing to try to move forward energy every si in san francisco is really an impor

mr. bryant, please come forward. >> good morning, supervisors, i am obviously james bryant. i am coming before you today to apply for the seat no. 5. i currently have in front of me two of the three recommendations i thought i would have the third, but i think it is forthcoming, but i think most of you, i think two of you know my life. i've been around here for over 35, 40 years, almost, in labor. i continue to actively be a part of the afa brand institute on the national board representing west coast states from colorado to california. i am very interested in the energy efficiency coordinating committee because it's one of the areas that i studied as a while being the president of the afa brand institute where we had at one time wanted to partner with richard heath associates. i don't know if you know who they are, but they are the state facilitators of the energy efficiency programs. and so we went through a very tough education process ranging over many years, knowing all of the ins and outs of the energy efficiency business and the most important or interesting piece was

mr. bryant i know you've said you're not satisfied solely with the police officer being charged with murdernced that they will work to put body cameras on police officers. will that help? >> yes, of course it will help. anything that will help okay. we're particularly interested in issues and things that would make sure that it goes on around the nation as well. things are calm in north charleston because of the fact that the urgency and quickness much information that came out put everything to doubt. with that video. that truth was shown. it was shown there the family had asked for that they requested that that they get the truth and they got the truth and therefore at the same time while we had many conversations with the police department and had many police forms here in north charleston. at the top of the chain we've had the trickle-down effect. we've had discussion meeting with the police chief. but that information is likely and slowly does not get down to the bottom level at the street level where people are being stopped, harassed searched. without profile and being treated the wa

bryant. what a day. he gave a heck of a sermon today as aeulogy for mr. gray and now here trying to calm the residents of baltimore, he's calling out all supporters he has to build a human chain, a um whoen wall between this area and north avenue just a few blocks down from here, where freddie gray was arrested, to try to keep them from moving downtown and to keep the chaos that we're seeing in baltimore today in one area of the city and then hopefully begin to rebuild. wolf? >> miguel i want you to stand by because on the left part of the screen you're seeing what looks like a cab, a taxicab. it's been attacked by rioters on the streets. you saw them smashing the window. i don't know if the driver is inside. if there are passengers inside. but they are clearly destroying that one taxi. we've seen this now several times. police vehicles smashed, burned and destroyed by these protestors. these rioters. it's getting very very ugly in a major american city. and it looks like it could get worse, despite the eggloquent statement by jamal bryant the pastor in t
