mr. burgess: thank you for yielding. e last time our tax code was refined, i had been practicing medicine for five years. and 15 31 years later years in congress, the reformation has made a profound difference. it is not logs on me that the rhetoric on the conference report was pretty negative and the idea was to sow doubt in the minds of people who would be effected and sow on people who would want to vote for tax relief and tax improvement. i have to tell you something. after that vote and mr. mitchell referenced southwest airlines and american airlines, i cannot remember ever having the positive feedback for a vote i have taken in this congress like this was for this tax vote. my own wal-mart, people were coming up to me and say, i work for american airlines and southwest airlines. i have a lot of families who work for american or southwest and they all got $1,000 because of the tax relief that we had provided. again, i cannot ever remember having that much positive reenforcement on a bill that was e rhetoric going sp
