mr. butler, was there a tracking number when you filed the complaint? >> no, none are given. there is no process. complaints should be given numbers, just as permits are given numbers. then you can ask, what has happened to complaint number -- whatever the date may be. what happened? it is in the system, it is being sent to this person. as it is, no record. commissioner hechanova: thank you. mr. murphy? commissioner murphy: this ordinance, since it started, this one department has done a pretty good job, spearheaded by john.

mr. butler, we heard the judge sentence her to four years. and then we heard this issue of good time and gain time. that is up to, as he put it the jailer. so let's do the math here. she served 2.2 years, nine months. max she could serve is one year and three months? >> the bottom line is she's not going home today. the judge threw the book at her but the judge didn't have a really big book to throw. >> he used every tool he had. he said if your defense is i am not a murderer, i'm just a liar then i'm going to make sure you go down for lying. so he gave her the maximum sentence. she got one year for every count. so that's a tough sentence. that's more than what most people would get in this situation. >> now mr. benowitz, you said, he did her a favor. why? >> well, first, we don't know what theicalalation icacalculao be. the department of corrections in florida may release her in six months or three months. it really depend on what the gain time and good time. >> and also the other conviction. that's a negative. there's all sorts of math that

mrs. ellmers: thank you so much. i yield now to era butler. ms. herrera beutler: thank you. it's a pleasure to be here. this is one of the most monl mental times we face as a nation. we are right now making decisions that are not just going to impact those of us here today but our children and our children's children. i am so proud to be a part of this body that passed a bipartisan solution to our budgeting problems just yesterday. we passed, like the gentlelady spoke about, a balanced budget amendment. you know, i know there's a lot of controversy happening right now and it's frustrating to watch people posture here in washington, d.c., folks back home are sending emails and they're calling me saying, you can just get some solutions done in washington? and my response is, i completely agree. it is frustrating to watch partisan bickering taking place and i kind of smile to myself and i think, just put more women in charge because we're going to fight for solutions and that's what we're here doing today. promoting the solutions that we were able to pass on the floor just yest
