legal analyst steven clark says her testimony might have actually hurt the defense. if this was self-defense, why didn't mr. momenti call the police? why didn't he render aid? why did he throw away the knife? all of those things. the prosecution are going to say consciousness of guilt. and now you have a text exchange between mr. momeni and a friend in which mr. lee is now dead. but there's no mention of this. the next key witness for the defense is doctor john marraccini. he's a former medical examiner in miami and palm beach, florida. on the stand, doctor mary chino was asked by the defense about their theory that it was bob lee who had the knife, and nima momeni was able to redirect it to first stab in the back hip. and then two times in the chest. doctor marraccini testified it is possible. the prosecution immediately began asking him if that was simply a theory. he said it is. and if there are any other possible ways it could have happened. he testified there are other possible ways. his testimony continues tomorrow at the san francisco hall of justice. sergio quintana, nbc, bay area news. some alarmi

clark says that video also creates new challenges. that's because the man momani was talking to is a private investigator. for attorney paula canny, moi's initial lawyer in this case. mr. moi thought he was communicating with his legal team when he's making these gestures on the video and communicating with this investigator, that could delve into the attorney-client privilege, and the question will be, should the court have allowed this in following sergeant goff's testimony, deputy medical examiner dr. alan moffatt took the stand. that's when jurors and the court audience, which includes some of bob lee's family were shown graphic autopsy photos on the stand, doctor ellen moffatt described the three stab wounds, 2 in the left chest and one in the right hip. she says the lower stab wound was actually the most shallow but turned out to be the most critical. it punctured bob ley's heart. on the stand, doctor moffatt could not say what order the stab wounds were made. she says the last wound did seem consistent with the single-edged knife, which is similar to the knife found at the crime scene. the knife prosecutors believe moi used. the trial continues tomorrow in san
