mr. clyburn will speak as well and another member of the conference committee. i will just say one thing, some decent news, some good news. that is that today we have learned that some 1.2 million people in america have gained health insurance coverage as result of the affordable care act. over 360,000 under the marketplace, having applied directly to the marketplace and some 800,000 through medicaid. we know that another 1.9 million americans have already started the application process and simply need to choose which option they would like to have. some 3 million americans today will have health security, something they did not have before. surely, americans want health security, and they are signing up for affordable insurance under the affordable care act. like the american people, democrats want to make sure the health security law works. we don't want to shut it down. now on the issue of hopefully no more shutdowns, we want to be able to start talking about moving forward on the budget so we can get to the real work of the american people, which is creatin
