mr. conway. mr. is ready now. >> thank you, madam chair. >> sends food aid is being discussed, i will just mention the human rights commission hearing that was august on chin on the subject. we heard testimony of sacks being delivered -- villagers being told not to touch those. and the trucks coming back and picking up the sacks. the question was, what do they do that? at another hearing, it was explained how she had checked this, and the food was being sold on the food exchange in order to get hard currency for the regime. this is perhaps, the greatest problem. as we look at these interviews, debriefings done with them -- they say that food does not go into no go areas. the no go areas -- who does not get up there. for the record, there was an amendment that prohibited food aid from going to north korea under these circumstances. that was watered down in the senate, by the way. but i share the gentleman from indiana's concerns about control of that food. and it is indirectly propping up the machine
