mr. de will, a, delaney.en with all the pushback and the corporate dollars at stake and the injurious atmosphere to the economy of indiana, they still have got their feed dried in concrete on this? >> yes, sir. the speaker and the president of our senate stood with 15 to 20 leading business executives who to a person said let's do this little fix and then let's get the big deal. let's go forward and protect folks on these issues. even though they stid there, the they have not agreed to even vote on the issue, let alone what way we would vote. there's a lot of learning going on. but i have to tell you, they are learning. they're slow, but they're coming along, ed. >> yeah. it's a sad state of affairs, no doubt. >> it is. there's no doubt. >> you have a lot of friends, mr. takei? >> we have a lot of friends in indiana, and in particularly in indianapolis, and they are outraged. i think it's important for the people of indiana to know the legislators they have. representative delaney stands for the best indiana.

[video clip] >> counterterrorism remains the cornerstone of the mission. it is the reason it was formed. it is the reason i excepted service. my view the global terrorist threat has evolved to a new phase. it is more complex. it is more decentralized. it is harder to detect. we need a whole of government approach that includes the department of homeland security. we have a phenomenon now of foreign fighters who lead their own countries go to places like iraq and syria and return. we need to track foreign fighters from countries for which we do not require a visa. my staff is developing a follow on to what we did last summer. greater security measures that can be taken regard to travelers for these countries. we continue to focus on aviation security and want to build preclearance capability. we are working daily to do that. a lot of our efforts

mr. delaney's district, dr. warren weinstein and giovanni laporto, both of them public servants trying to make the world a better place. very sad. so here we are in another week, the republicans embrace what trickle down -- trickle down economics over middle class economics. today's manifestation on the floor this week when they took -- the republicans took a perfectly good -- well, nothing is perfectly good here. a bipartisan bill that was well received to strengthen the consumer financial protection bureau and just as we thought we were going to have bipartisan legislation to do just that, they turned it into one of their insidious schemes to undermine the consumer financial protection bureau. this is the first bureau that is there to really protect consumers and taxpayers. so you know, it's a vital consumer watchdog and some recent revelations are that overall, 15 million consumers have benefited from the consumer financial protection bureau's actions. enforcement actions. recently they successfully provided

we had seen a statement from congressman delaney who represents the district from where mr.s family lived and said he is outraged that our government was not able to bring warren home. i think this is going to set the stage for a pretty wide spread debate about just what is worth it in the context of these drone strikes, at what point is the country going too far. while i think the reaction at this point is in the early stages it's not necessarily going to break down along partisan lines. senator mccain has been a staunch defender of this drone program and of the use of american military force in the war on terrorism overall. so i think if you listen closely to what he decides to say about this tragedy and whether or not this is something that ultimately served the national security interests of the united states even if it did result in terrible tragic deaths i think is going to be the question that will shape the debate to come. >> thank you so very much. we are going to take a short break and be more with this breaking news story. two innocent hostages killed by an americ
