mr. ted deutch of florida. thank you, mr. chairman. thank you to her witnesses for being here. mr. chairman, thank you to you in the ranking member for showing true bipartisan commitment to passing strategic sanctions and achieving a goal targeted foreign policy goals are obviously a tool to help us accomplish intended result through the sanctions were never meant to add nuclear ambitions we needed to bring them to the table and i just want to start with iran and then ask a couple questions about russia. you said earlier that the goal -- you said the goal is to get the purchase of iranian crude oil 20 by 11-5. i would just like to know. we know about the sanctions to set back on november 4th. i've spoken to some of our european friends who said they are trying to understand what the administration is trying to achieve, whether we want constraints to continue on iran's nuclear program. so, the goal is one thing. how we get there is another. whatever the goal is, for trying to get there by driving down the sale of iranian oil and gas, the question is, what are we telling our allies?
