mr. dickey: southern fanaticism reached the peak leading into the beginning of the war.who thought differently than the conventional southern was done -- that they had a right to succeed and that slavery was good, was likely to be attacked. if people had known that this consul in their midst was doing everything he could to undermine the cause of the confederacy his life would have absolutely been in danger. katty: do you think if it would not have been for robert bunch the south could have won the civil war? mr. dickey: there would've been a better chance that britain would have recognized the south early in the conflict. if that happened it would have then game over as far as the succession was concerned. in the early days, the north did not have the resources to force the south to rejoin. if the british h would have brush away the paper blockade by the north, that would have been the end of the war. katty: from history to a modern musical. he is known as one of the stars of "pitch perfect." a hollywood hit that has created a new generation of music lovers. jane o'brie
