the chair: the gentleman from illinois, mr. dold, is recognized for three minutes. mr. dold: i thank the chairman for yielding the time. i rise in strong support of this bill. and i thank my friend from north carolina for his work and my friend from washington on his work as well on what should be a bipartisan bill. honestly, i think the american public, mr. chairman, look at what's happening on the floor are going to be baffled by it as well. as a small business owner, let me tell you, there are 29 million small businesses in our nation. 99% are considered small businesses. 56 million americans work in these small businesses. last i checked, labor participation rate is near a three-decade low. new jobs are created by small businesses. 2/3 are created by small business. this is a bill that would basically say to the cfpb, we want you to have a small business advisory board. with all of the businesses that are out there, the consumer financial protection bureau, an agency in washington that sets the rules and regulations which has far-reaching impacts completely fails to
