mr. frelinghuysen: could i respond to mr. mcgovern? we had in our -- on our big mark in the full committee on this bill i think a pretty good discussion where i think some republicans, democrats lined up with the motion of having authorization of military force. others sort of held back. i was not particularly supportive of the amendment. primarily because quite honestly it goes to the root of things change so quickly. it was isil centric. in reality if you look at iraq today, what's most frightening, what quite honestly some people in the administration are not willing to admit, is that to a certain extent the government's been taken over by iran. we are providing closed air support for people who basically have been our enemy and terrorist lists. i would have hoped -- this is not a political shot. we would have had a little more clarity as to what the president really would like to see, because in reality if we ever come up with a comprehensive plan to defeat isil, if they are defeated the people will take over in iraq. will the iran
