mr. horsford, for five minutes. >> thank you, mr. chairman. i'd like to ask the administrator if he could go ahead and answer the question about the tsa not being able to have a preapproved vendor list, what the challenges are to implementing the process. >> we looked at doing a qualified product list to say we would recommend or we would accept if you bought these particular pieces of technology from these manufacturers, we wee trying to be open to all vendors, all providers. so it's not like we are preselecting, say you must go with this one. so mccarron may have contact with a vendor that has one solution, lax may have contacts with another vendor with a different solution. so we tried not to be prescriptive in that regard, tried to be completely open to whatever vendors ask -- and solutions that airports would provide. so what we've done is provide a template to say here are some recommended solutions, and then the you work within those parameters, just make sure you coordinate that that with your l security director, these more than likel

mr. horsford. >> thank you, mr. chairman. on october 1st, 2012, the inspector general's office publicly released a report issuing 49 recommendations on conference oversight, internal controls and spending. mr. griffin, how many recommendations did secretary nation's psyche occur with? >> the secretary concurred with all the recommendations. >> in fact, the va had issued a conference oversight memorandum that began implementing many of those recommendations when the report was released, is that correct? >> we shared our draft report with the department in august. they have an opportunity to see what the issues were. nsa previously testified, they did generate an aggressive memorandum laying out new guidance to try and address a lot of the issues. >> how many of the 49 recommendations as the department finished implementing? >> we got a lot of flurry of act to that in the past two days, which is a byproduct of hearing so we are grateful. roughly half is my belief, but we look at you an answer at the precise number for the recor

mr. horsford: thank you, madam speaker. it is past time for this congress to work together to improve the affordable care act. this law can be improved, but it is also helping people throughout this country and in my home state of nevada. one example that i would like to share with you today is that from helle, a constituent nevada. michelle enrolled in the plan on the exchange that will save her $200 per month and allow her access to ob-gyn services closer to home. she called her enrollment in the program an overwhelmingly positive experience. michelle is currently on a hipaa-guaranteed plan that cost her $a 65 a month -- $565 montreal. if she gets sick and needs -- $565 a month. if she gets and needs service, she has to drive to las vegas rom parumpt. after enrolling in the affordable care act, she will save more than $200 a month and have access to local and urgent visit and ob-gyn services in her area. madam speaker, now is not the time to turn back the clock or leave constituents like michelle behind. if republicans ar
