mrs. kennedy. she met a young john kennedy in 1951. they met at a dinner. charles bartlett, a journalist, introduced them. it was a little bit of love at first sight, particularly for jackie, as i will call her in her interview today, because she had begun trying to go into different things and she was at that age -- she was considered a debutante in new york city, but she moved to d.c. and was looking to get married. and here was this handsome, witty, debonair dinner partner she had and they fell for each other. theirk a big bond was common catholicism. she was fluent in spanish and french. she was a catholic girl, and boy.he was a catholic i think that meant a lot. so they get married the next year. they met in 1951, and by 1952, they get married in newport, rhode island. about 1000 guests were there. it made all of the social papers as the wedding of the year. she had worked previously for a was in the she fashion world. it became a storybook relationship due to the media coverage. david: what she interested in politics particularly? dr. brinkley: she wa
