well, lorenzo, mr. leegage zimmerman walk out of that station with no arrest. we had a dead 17-year-old, yet no arrest. and seeing him called to the stand today reminded me why this needed to go to trial. i went with others early in to say that this should not be decided in the back of a police station. this should go to trial. let's not forget i was never called until mr. lee, two weeks after the killing, said, and i'm quoting him. i'll put his quote up. he said "mr. zimmerman has made a statement of self-defense. until we can establish probable cause to dispute that, we don't have grounds to arrest him." two weeks later, you didn't know that the injuries were not serious, you did not know that mr. zimmerman had told different stories? you didn't know he hasn't been pummelled? you decided with all of the contradictions that we now know that that was not probable cause. the protest was that mr. lee and the police there had become the judge and jury, and that was not fair. that was something that we proteste

mr. lee brings to eight the number of employees so far convicted of or charged with insider trading for the benefit of sac. what today's indictment against sac makes clear is this. when so many people from a single hedge fund engage in insider trading, it is not a coincidence. it is instead the predictable product of substantial and pervasive institutional failure. as alleged, sac trafficked inside information on a scale without any known precedent in the history of hedge funds. as described in the indictment, the scope of illegal trading was deep and it was wide. it spanned more than a decade in time, involved securities of at least 20 public companies, extended across multiple sectors of the economy and benefits sac to the tune of at least hundreds of millions of dollars. today's indictment, though, is not just a narrative of names and numbers. it is more broadly an account of a firm with zero tolerance for low returns but seemingly tremendous tolerance for questionable conduct. and so sac

lew lew madam president, two weeks -- mr. lee: two weeks ago while most americans were busy getting ready for the 4th of july holiday, the obama administration made a stunning announcement about the president's signature legislative accomplishment: the patient protection and affordable care act. the president admitted to the american people that because obamacare was so poorly crafted, he was delaying the enforcement of the employer mandate and would not assess fines and penalties to big companies that refused to provide insurance to their employees. the president explained that businesses could not handle -- quote -- "the complexity of the requirements." and that government bureaucrats would spend the next year simplifying the reporting rules so companies could comply. i expected that in the next paragraph he would acknowledge that american families also deserve relief because, as polls consistently reflect, they have very big problems with the requirements as well. they have concerns about the government-run health care scheme
