as for his part, mr. lynchsaid the former management team of autonomy was shocked to see the statement today, flatly rejects these allegation, they are false it took ten years build autonomy's industry-leading technology. stood see,has been mismanaged, he claimed, since the acquisition was done by hp. for all of that meg whitman says they still like the end product. >> we still like the business. we like the technology. we think it's going to be an important part of hp's -- hp software's growth strategy, but it is not as valuable as we had believed it to be because revenues are lower, growth rate, we believe, will be slower and the margin is not what was reported, which was in a 40 to 45% range. we now think more of a 28 to 30% range. >> which means they would have paid an awful lot less for it if they had over done the deal. many hp investors which they never heard the name autonomy you let alone hewlett-packard, having issues of its own. >> you asked meg whitman whether she regrets having voted for the deal?

mr. lynch's letter. they said, in part, we look forward to hearing dr. lunch and other former autonomy employees answer questions under penalty of perjury. >> that mike lynch letter, it went on and on. we showed you a little tiny portion. looks like both sides are geared up for a big, big fight. to top it all off, there's a class ash actiction shareholder that's just been filed against hp. jake has not yet filed the suit. i know he wants to. he has spoken with potential plaintiffs and hp shareholders. why haven't you done it yet? >> well -- >> i'm assuming you're going to. what's the case going to be? >> the case, i think, is a solid one. first, you had hp buying autonomy based on phony potential statements, paying $10 billion. >> but they didn't know they were phoney. >> we're talking about hp. if anybody should know about accounting and computer business, it's them. they're high-priced lawyers, high-priced accountants. the shareholders rely on them. they did it before with eds. the profit margins are declining. they paid $13 billion for that company. i

approve the autonomy deal, and now she's the ceo of hp and these accusations thrown back at her from mr. lynch. >> absolutely. meg whitman is not projecting a turn-around for this fiscal year saying she expects to see that in 2014. there's a number of revenue declines and nonexistent margins in a number of businesses throughout the fiscal year. she's in the thick of a turn-around. this controversy all autonomy did not help. >> is there any reason to give hp a look? >> i don't think so. i mean, you've got to get rid of the entire board and meg whitman, i don't think get rid of her. she's a ceo. she's a board member. they've had too many ceos and at some point it reaches a point of diminishing returns, but you can get rid of the board. particularly the value shareholders stuck in here right now should rise up and demand it t-because clearly they're leading the company to ruin. this was a disastrous acquisition from the beginning, and it's not helping. the company has no choice but to take the write-down. if that's what their accountants say, they have to take the write-down. there's not a battle

we heard from mr. lynch yesterday on maria bartiromo's program. of course, denied in any way, shape or form that they had done anything wrompk autonomy when it came to revenue recognition and the like. we'll have a little more on it in a bit. we have a statement from deloitte we want to share, autonomy's auditor. we'll keep an eye on hp after the new lows yesterday. some argue autonomy, some with disappointment over the first half of the year and declines in some of their businesses. we talked to meg whitman at length about that yet. >> it's amazing the write-down is what had analysts revise their -- they cut it to a whopping sector perform now. >> thanks for that. >> the straw that broke the camel's back here. >> right. maybe it's time to buy. >> yeah. they also say hp remains strategically challenged while declining market share makes it difficult to recover. hp for their part are not doing so bad. >> jane oos calling into squawk telling the story how the original short was autonomy. he called it an aggressive roll-up. stunned when hp bought it.
