[applause] >> how many of you are visiting the museum for the first time? i love that the proportion of hands is getting lower and lower. we opened a little over two years ago in philadelphia, just two blocks from independence hall. the mission of the museum is to share compelling stories about the diverse people and complex events in liberty, equality and self-government. those who have been to the museum have been through our 16,000 core exhibition. you have seen george washington's remarkable war tent, his home away from home where their first commander-in-chief experienced the lowest and highest moments of the american revolution. it is a great place to visit and we are glad to be able to bring you here tonight for this wonderful evening, exploring connections between ireland and the american revolution through a conversation with martin mansergh and daniel mulhall. this coincides with the ope
