mr. martin had to say. is that this revised da, the one thing it does is transfers responsibility for obtaining the security from the acoc to the city. he spelled out the exposure of the city there would be in terms of cash 2.4 million dollars that would need to be put into the cash collateral or escrow immediately that may or may not be used. also another $1 million the city would have to come up with in terms of paying the premium on the $5 million insurance policy that the organizing committee will obtain. these are in the budget, are general fund moneys and reimbursable by america's cup organizing committee. if the cash collateral were to be drawn down in case the city couldn't meet its obligations or if there were additional funds, the additional 2.4 million during the event, those moneys are supposed to be reimbursable by the america's cup organizing committee. but as we said in our earlier report in march the availability of those funds is not certain. there was a discussion of fundraising. it is sho

mr. raldolf, and martin luther king jr. and others came to me there were people in the administration concerned about some of the -- president kennedy didn't like the idea of a march in washington. he said it would be violence and chaos and disorder, and he sort of told us we would never get us to the right place. the congress bring hands ever thousand of people to washington. it mr. raldolf spoke up and said, mr. president, this will be an orderly, peaceful, nonviolent protest. and ten of us spoke, it became the last speaker. i spoke number six, there were ten people that spoke that day. i'm the one still around. but there was certain words, certain phrases that i use. i didn't think that the -- be strong enough to protect people in the south. i thought the speech that we had prepared was a reflection of the people that we're working with in the deep south and the delta mississippi and southwest georgia in the black bet of alabama. so mr. raldolf came to me and said, john, for [inaudible] can you make the changes. at one p

mr. martin, for his closing comments. >> mr. chairman, i'd like to first correct something in the record that occurred today. there's one statement was made earlier that i made in this hearing. i previously stated that mr. moore testified in a reported interview in july 2012. that he thought he was supposed to stay out of oneunited matters but only for one day. i've gone back and review the transcript, and mr. moore actually said the following as quote, i mean, i believe my transcript says that i took her, meaning representative waters, conversation with me to mean that i shouldn't. there was no need to work on oneunited issues that day, or the nba issues that day. i can't remember how it was phrased that i know that that day was what the context was all about. that's the close of that quote. i would note, mr. chairman, that in his interview with this come he never indicated that statement was incorrect, or that he recalled things any differently now. i also said earlier that if mr. moore thought he was supposed to stay out of n

an adjoining county called perry county-this is in the black belt of alabama-the home county of mrs. martin luther king jr., the home county of mrs. ralph abernathy, the home county of mrs. andrew young. and because of what happened to him, we made a decision to march. in selma, alabama, in 1965, only 2.1 percent of blacks of voting age were registered to vote. the only place you could attempt to register was to go down to the courthouse. you had to pass a so-called literacy test. and they would tell people over and over again that they didn't or couldn't pass the literacy test. on one occasion, a man was asked to count the number of bubbles on a bar of soap. on another occasion, a man was asked to count the number of jellybeans in a jar. there were african-american lawyers, doctors, teachers, housewives, college professors flunking this so-called literacy test. and we had to change that, so we sought to march. and we got to the top of the bridge. we saw a sea of blue-alabama state troopers-and we continued to walk. we came within hearing distance of the state troopers. and a man identified
