when you were mayor, mr. browns you had to get on the front page of the world or else you felt like you were suffering. mayor lee, are you keeping up with that? >> i'm trying. it's a big shoe to fill. >> no, it's a suit. it's not just shoes with him. the cufflinks, ties. >> i have a question. the lights are supposed to go off at 2 a.m. but every time i drive in, i see the lights. i'm not complaining because i love the display. but they are going on a little longer. >> yeah. i think they are just probably still testing it out and making sure it can automatically be timed well. >> the electricity is only $15 a day. >> they can go a couple of extra hours. >> we expect to win super bowl l. they don't give it to us, 51 is just as good but we have to get into the rotation and i think we have a great opportunity here. >> what's your prediction? >> well, for sure, the stadium will be finished and you have to play at least two seasons in your stadium before you are eligible for a super bowl and so the drop-dead date for san

mayor willie brown. >> all right arguing. >> mr. mayor, mr. mayor!what time does the sky start falling? >> the sky isn't going to fall at all. only thing that's going to happen is there will not be a growth in the amount of sky there is. in government, we really don't ultimately reduce. we simply move it around and not grow as much. >> so all that talk and hype about cuts in defense and vital programs cuts in education, that's not going to happen? >> that's all conversation. ultimately you cut that which you are not interested in. you reduce that which -- and you use it as an excuse, by the way. that's why there's nobody greatly concerned enough to be back there really doing something about it because they know that that kind of a small cut can be absorbed coming out of the hide of those who are not on the right page today. >> so, in other words, what you're saying is two things. one, the cuts aren't necessarily real. two, they are not going to happen now. and possibly the third one is, is when they do happen, your boss is going to say, mr. president

mr. mayor brown, your commitment to the preservation of our american art form resulted in the creation of hundreds of jobs and thousands and thousands of nights of employment for jazz musicians in the city of san francisco and all over the united states. jazz musicians and college students from europe to asia, australia to africa come to perform and visit the san francisco jazz venues that were created under your leadership of the jazz preservation district. and to the man who dresses like the duke elg ton and was visionary commitment of this art form to date. mr. mayor brown, we say thank you, we salute you on behalf of my partners and hundreds of jazz musicians from san francisco to new york city, chicago to miami, from copenhagen to tokyo. it's my pleasant on behalf of the jazz society a plaque to thank you for keeping our form alive.
