mr. mayor lee, good morning. i want to thank my colleagues here this morning. we've all been together on this and we work very well together to keep the whole city moving. i want to thank the director of transportation. lots of things are happening in this city. a lot of things are planning for the future. but this is so exciting because this is something that people can actually see. they will see it and ride it and enjoy it from the moment the service begins. thank john hailey for this experience. i'm glad to be part of the mta. thank you very much. [ applause ] >> thank you, mr. mr. chairman. i had the pleasure of working with him. we are very grateful to have his partnership in helping us keep these buses. i love the mayor's challenge at least i heard of the challenge that years down the road we should look at these buses to look as good as they do today. we have support from all of san francisco to keep these great investments to continue to look good. the other one is our transit director john daleey who has spent a lot of time to get these buses to hit t

mr. mayor. and gentleman. mayor ed lee. i am very proud to have business, leading up to the completion of this project. now and also the bust will be displayed and a building that was created with love and professionalism. and all need to know in 2015, we will be celebrating the 100th university of the construction of (inaudible). the bust (inaudible). he can explain more in detail the life of the mayor and i would like to headline (inaudible). 1896, sutra became the mayor of san francisco and in ten years, (inaudible) the ability and willingness to spend the time to be with official and bureau crats. jewish came from japan and a jewish from russia, and this celebration was not only to sutra, but also the immigrants were failed and given to the lands of the united states. chinese and the ukraine and russian and immigrants are present today. all immigrants that are influenced about and delighted, (inaudible) never forget the roots. i would like to express an important thing here that the counsel general of germany and russia

mr. mayor, ed lee, and one of the main leaders and in washington, d.c. and nancy pelosi and there is no question that without her persist ans and her ten tenacity, and so we are pleased to be joined by her newly anointed staff someone who has been working close to this project for many years, please welcome robert edmonson. >> good morning and it is stufp a pleasure to be here today and the leader looked so disappointed and she is so excited about this event and we help to say thank you to so many people. to the mayor and the board of supervisors and to our partners at fta and the workers who are enjoying the fruits of this labor and i say thank you to the community that has worked so hard and so long to make this project a reality. she asked that i read this on behalf of her. today's events marking the launch of the tunnel and subway is a celebration as we move closer to enhancing the infrastructure and connecting san francisco diverse communities. there are thousands of san franciscan that 30 stock every day and the subway with an easier commute and on

mr. mayor. i'll be very brief. governor brown shares the concern of mayor lee and the other public officials that we do not need yet another bart strike, that this is a great hardship for the people of the bay area and the economy of the bay area, for everybody who works here, lives here, goes to school here, travels here, and that the negotiators on both sides should be making every possible effort that -- we don't expect them to leave the bargaining table without an agreement. i asked and they agreed to a 30-day extension of the contract. they've had another 28 days so far. we expect that the next couple of days that they will succeed. failure to reach an agreement will be a serious failure, one that leadership should not -- should not abide. the governor has set this as a top priority. we've had two of our best mediators in there for the entire time. we've had the head of the public employment relations board, our highest public official in this area, working daily on this situation. we've done everything possible. i've stayed in touch with them. the governor has been apprised of the situation. we have done ever

[laughter] >> don't do that very often these days. and i'm sure my colleagues at the board of supervisors also don't know how that feels very much. but i want to thank and welcome everybody here to our waterfront. this is the kind of event that we're happy to not only engage in, but to bring more people to our waterfront. that has been the purpose of the port for so many years. and i want to just congratulate the port, its commission and the staff, because this is in fact 150 years of celebration of our port. and what a way to celebrate with all these wonderful things that are happening here. it's taken 15 years for this project to get done, 15 years. that's a 10th of the history of the port of san francisco. and there's a lot of people to thank and monique's already thanked them, but it's worth repeating. i think the big conservation development commission, the port commission, our port staff, public works, all

mayor ed lee who knows disasters like no one else. he is the biggest supporter of our preparedness in san francisco and it's an honor to work for you, mrmayor. >> thank you. thank you, ann. good morning, everybody. the good news this morning is that there's no city-wide disaster. but we take this opportunity to remind ourselves that everything that we can do ahead of time to better prepare for disaster is going to be incredibly beneficial to our residents, to our small businesses, even to our major businesses. and, so, i have been very glad to have been working with board president david chiu to be working on the working group that as we review and understand what these new companies are doing, the technologically oriented companies that are part of a share economy, get more people involved in the economy in general, and creating ideas about how people can participate. we came across a very great idea that as we go through more exercises in our disaster preparedness, ann and her staff have been great at that. in fact, the last one i kind of had fun in, how do we feed 10,000 people in the middle of the tenderloin in a major erredthtion

mr. bryant speaks, we have a lot of new introductions today and this introduction is new as of yesterday. mayor lee has appointed a new senior advisor on the environment. he is with us. he is a leader from the community, environmental justice, has an amazing body of work he has done and is going to contribute a lot to the environmental policy of the sdi f. it's appropriate we would like to start off the public comment by introducing roger kim. (applause) >> an honor and pleasure to be on the mayor's staff and working with him to extend sf's leadership on the environment and to work with all of you doing that as well. as joshua mentioned, i come from the community, spent eight years working at the asia pacific environmental based in oakland organizing low-income people of color, asian immigrants and refugees to be champions on the environment. and working on environmental policy from climate change to energy too big fossil fuel facilities like the refinery in richmond, and looking forward to bringing that experience and work to san francisco and really broadening our scope of who is involved in maki

[applause] >> well, good evening everyone and just to reaffirm on behalf of mayor lee it's a pleasure to have you here tonight in city hall, our humble abode. to all of the musicians and performers and nice to bring life into sometimes these cold walls and we we can. kqud and to all of you for coming out of the studio and brings your presence into here city hall. i know the broadcasting world is happy from the election results last night and we can continue to deliver programming for our communities. [applause] and i know we were inspired by the president's words last night when we talked about the importance of diversity and here in san we are no stranger to that language when we celebrate all the different communities we have here in san francisco and the filipino and native american community here in san francisco. we continue to build upon our city's long standing history and celebrate diversity and multiculturalism as a part of our lives and here we celebrating the american indian and enriches the great history of our city. these events are special to us and gives

i want to thank mayor lee for putting up with many of us who have been asking him for a couple of dollars for getting this project done. mr. mayor, i want to tell you that we are going to bring you ice cream every week until we get phase two of this project. what do you think about that? are you ready for that?
