i would like to associate myself with the remarks mr. nunez made in the beginning. it is our responsibility to address this surprise billing issue. i would however note that throughout this testimony there has been a general complaint. i hear it all the time. that medicare is a very very artificially low reimbursement rate. i would just caution us in trying to fix this problem not to add too much more government regulation to the fix. that might end up actually exasperating the situation. i have a large medicare population. i'm blessed with a situation where within 30 miles of my district probably 50 different hospitals or clinics. any medicare patient could go to. the situation where medicare patient goes and. for a routine colonoscopy. they find out there is a polyp in the polyp is removed. a few weeks later they get this letter that says amount you may old the provider. that is a dreaded letter. it is the precursor to usually a surprise billing. you might get the surprise billing earlier. should we evolve medicare in this whole discussion about should we be prote
