mr. paul was enough to give me access. i think the building department put them through the verification true microform and records. that created the building permit. mr. sweeney was dealing with it. when you look at it you do not know what it was. the owner, if you want to say gaming the system or whatever. even the permits to put the door in, he said it was a two unit building. why do you put a door in if you have a unit? the door on the left side of the property, what i thought was interesting was what i was there, the door on the left side, that is where the window was. if you look at the property next door, it has a door and window beside it and it is around the same time they put the door on the left side and bill a wall across were you would have come in on the main entrance which was the right side. you would have turned left and went up the stairs. now there is a wall there. i took some photographs today. i am sorry to link than this. i am agreeing with mr. paul. i went to show you where i was coming from. this is

supervisor olague: i know mr. paul has worked on this for a long time. do you have additional feedback on the amendments that were suggested today? >> there has been good discussion among the colleagues. one of the way she steer new contruction is to steer them to doing the easy thing which is to buy old buildings. the 800 pound gorilla in the room is the academy of art university. they have used the existence of conditional use for a term called path to legalization. for those who are not familiar, it's a policy developed in years ago for a good reason. you would have a homeowner out in one of the neighborhoods and maybe didn't know you need a permit to put a tiny back on the back. the academy of art is not that example. they have violated law here in, you're out, dozens, under times. but they believe since they can legalize what they have done through conditional use, they are in no hurry. they delayed the master plan, they delay the impact report because some day they will get to legalize it. by not having that route, it makes it harder for bad actors

i think that ron paul has a personal relationship with the governor and mrs. romney. u know, during the debates you'll see anne romney come out and talk to congressman paul, you'll see mitt romney come out and talk to mrs. paul. so i can imagine ron paul making a deal with romney, whether he wants a convention appearance, maybe a couple planks, and i can see that being friendly. with the words that have been exchanged, with the money that's been spent, it's hard to see how a gingrich-romney conversation is going to be friendly. although one thing that evan thomas andy learned when we were researching this in real time behind the scenes book "inside the circus," was that there's more conversations among the candidates than we realize. the romney folks told me the one thing they realized in 2008 was that it was a mistake to be in too much of a bubble, so there are unofficial conversations all the time. so you never know. >> well, so you are the guy who knows all of this stuff. it's so great to have you on, because inside the war room, we love to peek behind the curtain.

mr. paul: i ask the quorum call be vitiated. the presiding officer: without objection. mr. paul: i rise today to introduce aid to egypt until they end the prosecution of our u.s. citizens. i offered this amendment earlier this spring when egypt was detaining our citizens, pro-democracy workers and was not letting them leave the country. since then they have let them leave the country but sort of in an insulting fashion in the sense that they have let them leave when we had to pay basically ransom. we had to pay about $5 million in ransom. $300,000 per person to let them leave egypt. so they came home and egypt could only get paid if the administration certified they were pro-democracy. within days secretary clinton released the said aid and said they were achieving their democratic goals. i wrote a letter to secretary clinton and asked her not to do this because the prosecution still goes on. the u.s. citizens had to pay $300,000 in bills but had to sign a statement saying they're coming back for the trial. everybody signed of said i doubt they're ever going back to egypt fo
