joining me now, tremayymaine le and mr. payne, let me begin with you. there are people i've seen at each moment, whether it's the violence that we've seen at rallies, at trump rallies particularly, many by trump supporters. in some cases, recently in san jose, by people protesting trump, whether it's the political violence we saw in charleston and political violence here, comparisons to this awful year in american public life, 1968. what is your reaction as someone who has been through it? >> well, i think what we have in play here is a similar trigger, which is the racially disparate application of excessive and in these particular cases, deadly force. i think that the reaction of the people who identify most closely with the victims feel this disparity and newt gingrich is right. whites do not quite feel what it is, but i think that there has to be -- it's worse than that. they're in denial all too often about it. and i think that it is not incumbent on african americans to talk more about it, but in terms of 1968, there are similarities, but each of
