mr. pillpel. >> thank you. can i get a 30-second warning? this board passed a previous resolution, file 01-2100, and their response was only found in february. residents, essential workers, and tourists travel, too. the routes that have been suspended are either peak hour services or secondary and community lines. the peak-hour routes may not be needed for a while, but the other routes are needed now and always. i want a fourth restoration scenario excluding the peak hour service, which is actually about 15% of system costs. not necessarily hours because they're higher cost services, but it's about 15% of system costs, so if you exclude those hours and costs, there is enough available to run the rest of the system. to make transit viable, full service means 19 or 20-hour coverage daily and owl service overnight. coverage means everyone's city, not just on geary, van ness, market, and mission, where there has, is, and will always be service. i've been a transit rider longer than most, and i need to know what access and equity mean here in thi

mr. pillpel, david pillpel, who was the caller, in reluctantly supporting this. >> chair preston: thank you, supervisor chan, and i want to say that to those who were asking why it was not in budget committee. it was a fair question, and we hear a lot of stuff in the g.a.o. committee. we are often called upon to do that, particularly immediately before and after the budget season, called upon to do that. since m.t.a. was going to be spending so much of their day with us, with their other items, decided to consolidate this. but i -- i to want to say that the juxtaposition of the last caller about the information that we just had is well taken, but this is something that generates revenue, so i don't think it's an apples to apples comparison here. i just will say i would personally like to think about this item a little more while at the same time not holding up the item. so my preference would be to go ahead and forward this as a committee report but without recommendation at this time unless others on the committee feel differently, and then we can, at least for myself, would like to give i
