mr. president. roe v. wade says there is a compelling state interest to protect the unborn out of medical liability. i would argue that the difference between medical liability in 1973 and 2018 is a norm is. what we are trying to do is provide a new way to protect the unborn. in a legislative a-day -- can a legislative body prohibit abortion on demand at a time science tells us the baby feels excruciating pain, at a time science tells us parents should sing to their child, at a time science tells us that this baby has well-connected tissue and can feel pain and survive. my answer is, yes. it is ok for the congress and state legislators to pass laws saying that, at the fifth month, we are going to disallow abortion on demand, there will be exceptions, but they will be rare. there are about 10,000 cases that are affected by this law potentially. what are we trying to do? we are trying to proceed forward. to a better day in america. we're trying to get out of a club where there is only six other members. tryi
