mr. ruger, good morning. >> good morning. thanks for having me on. >> give a sense of william barr, who he is and why the president has chosen him to be the next attorney general. >> well, william barr by his own admission is a lawyer near retirement, in fact, he is partially retired. he has had a long career in the law here in washington. he had a stint at the cia. he was in the white house in 1982, 1983. he was at the doj for four years and that included two years as attorney general under george h.w. bush so he's looking for a job that he has already held. but he has been a private sector attorney for a while here, he represents big businesses, he is now 68 years old, it's 27 years after he had his first confirmation hearing to be attorney general. he's well known in conservative circles, dianne feinstein, the senator from california, the top democrat on the committee, told me he is a quote/unquote known quantity. he says that he sees a country that's deeply divided and i think he can do a good job of protecting the rule o
