mr. speaker, i yield one minute to the distinguished gentleman from virginia, mr. brat. the speaker pro tempore: the gentleman from virginia is recognized for one minute. mr. wrath: -- mr. brat: thank you very much. i think everyone in this body knows what it means to run for office. we each represent 700,000 people. we each take that job very seriously. and so it's a sad day today -- everybody in this body has fought very hard to try to come to agreement. unfortunately members in the other body have not allowed us to do that. the fault lies in the u.s. senate. we have asked and we have trusted our leadership to come up with a strong fight, strong messaging. whatever we can do to solve this constitutional problem for the last two months. and at the last minute of the day, the senate has delayed and delayed and delayed and so what is really going on is they are not standing up and representing their people at home. we in this body owe it to the american people to represent their views and the senate will not even allow a vote to bring up a debate. i imfloor everyone back a
