mr. turner and then mr. larson. yourself,to thank adam smith, prior chairman, buck mckeon, and my cochair for the sexual assault invention caucus. thank mr. kaufman and ms. spears for their effort on sexual assault. 10 years ago, our committee helped form the caucus for the purposes of allowing us on a bipartisan basis on a sensitive basis to handle sexual assault provisions in this bill. we worked throughout the bill and holding hearings and briefings and we were the department of defense. we vet our provisions that we are proposing for the bill to make sure we are not doing any unintended consequences and that the effect of our intended consequences will occur. it's a result of the bipartisan leadership we have that gives the ability to not have logical fights or ineffective legislation but real legislation that addresses sexual assault. there are a number of provisions in this bill. i like to thank mr. kaufman further help and i want to thank her for the great work she has done. she has dedicated herself to this
