walker was shot. the report indicates over 60 to mr. walters body. however, they are still working to determine entrance and exit names. and this investigation on their end will time it will take time. so for them to determine how many times mister walker was actually shot in that work to make that determination is the responsibility of the medical examiner. as you could see in the video, there was a gun recovered from mister walker's vehicle at the time of the shooting. he was on leslie shooting back police officers went to mister walker and diligently provided 1st aid to save his life. one officer on the body camp footage can be heard saying he still has a pulse. as the officers were getting ready to put him into a police car to get him as quickly as possible to the hospital. back and fire medics arrived on scene. they took over aid, and unfortunately, mister walker tragically passed. okay, i'm going to turn it over to you and we'll start with we're going to start by allowing each media present to have at least one question we have to to speak loudl

mr. walker on foot. the question that begs to be asked and answered is how many rounds did each individual officer fire? they will have to speak to that, what was the threat and why was it necessary to fire each round. we heard the police chief say this could have potentially been a routine traffic stop. you understand an armed suspect wearing a ski mask is far from routine for officers who are conducting a traffic stop. >> and we also see, sergeant, police using a taser at one point. how do officers make the decision then to turn to lethal force? >> well, it can happen in an instant. i don't know what they saw or why they thought there was a need to use the taser and maybe the taser quickly became ineffective. people don't understand that a taser generally only has two cartridges. other than the fact that at one point the suspect fired in the officers' direction and could have very well been armed during the foot chase. >> police showed what they call a shot being fired from the car as it was being purs

mr. walker had as many as 60 wounds on his body.ever, ultimately, the coroner has to determine if it's entries and exits or sustained another way. that is what is fueling much of the anger here. now in terms of what else the police chief is saying. i asked him, what was the most disturbing thing that he has seen in that footage that's been released by authorities and basically suggesting that just the amount of gunfire that he sees and hears and that is one of the questions that remains here. one of the things that state investigators are basically overseeing this case after the locals handed it over will try to see if each one of those fires, each one of those rounds is justified. here's what the chief had to say earlier today. >> they need to be able to articulate what specific threats they were facing and that goes for every round that goes down the barrel of their gun and they need to be held to account. >> reporter: now, almost immediately after the akron police department handed over the investigation to state officials, inclu
