mr. warner: thank you, mr. president. i've come to the floor to speak on a different subject, but i do want to acknowledge this is an issue that i follow as well. i actually cosponsored senator lee's bill. i do hope that what my friend, the senator from illinois, proposed in terms of a process, that that process will take place and that we can get this legislation or vacationer -- or variation thereof passed through the senate, that we can deal with this issue. this is something i hear a lot from my constituents in virginia, particularly northern virginia. and again, while no piece of legislation is perfect, i think the direction that senator lee put forward is one that i carefully considered before i cosponsored the legislation. the only way this is going to get resolved is if we go through this process. there is nobody in the senate that works harder on immigration issues with more passion and willingness to get to yes on issue after issue than the senator from illinois. i thank him for his work as well. mr. president,
