mr. dean, we will begin with you. mr. dean: i talked with kelly several times and i believe she is a supporter of mine in this race. what i would tell her is this -- we need to expand medicaid. it not only is the right thing to do -- we're talking about people our veterans, people or for the most part working people who can't get insurance and we want these folks to be able to have health care. right now, we have over the past few years, we have lost over $4 billion that could have been used to help them because we turned down medicaid expansion. we turned down a proposal that the governor worked hard on that would have protected our state, that would've been better than what most states have gotten and the legislature said no. the most telling thing is that our legislature has no plan b. there was a good plan a that was presented that was a rational thing to do, but there has been lots of criticism, attacks on past presidents on past issues, but no plan for the future. we need to act, and we need to expand medicaid. >> mr

we need more? joe radinovich? mr. radinovich: i think what we need to do is make sure we are not undermining sensible regulations that were put in place in the wake of the crash. too often what happens is that we get too far from the disasters and cater to the big banks and special interests and undermine important protections. so when we see a crash like 2008, that devastates retirements. that devastates retirements. i saw pension that, through no fault of their own, teenagers will have 50% cuts of their pensions. these are the consequences of the regulation. mr. mulcahy: pete? mr. stauber: the dodd-frank act, when i talked to local community lenders and banks, they said for them it was a disaster. we have had in minnesota 100 , banks, small community banks close because of the owners regulations put on them. i think we have to be very sensible and logical and replace rules and policies in this country. that is just one example of going overboard. look at what is happening right now. the president trump for every rule

we are starting with a question for both of you. starting with mr. webber. the nation has just come through an historic and bitter fight over brett kavanaugh's suitability for the supreme court. we have been listening to a national conversation about it. was the senate right to confirm justice kavanaugh? >> thank you for having us. thank you to njtv for hosting us. i think the whole country was disappointed with the way in which the kavanaugh confirmation hearing was handled. certainly, these issues that came up at the last minute should have been vetted in the summer and should have been disclosed long before we saw them for the first time in late september. my personal opinion was that dr. ford suffered great emotional harm, i think she was a very empathetic figure, but she made allegations that could not be corroborated. those allegations were 36 years ,ld and at the end of the day judge no justice kavanaugh had tremendous support in corroborating evidence for his version of the facts. when you have a justice of the supreme court ready to be confirmed, my

mr. begich: absolutely. we saw the impact here in anchorage, when the april vote occurred. 80,000 people turned out. record number and most importantly, some of the most disenfranchised neighborhoods voted more than ever before. this is the right way. make it easier, give people the right to vote and vote by mail works across this country in the states that are doing it. >> do you believe that voter fraud is a problem that affects election outcomes? mr. begich? mr. begich: on vote by mail? >> just generally. mr. begich: you know, we've seen very little in our state. we've seen some recently that definitely needs to be looked at, investigated but over our time at the state dealing with elections, very minimal at all -- so we have a great system and vote by mail has worked many places across the state. >> voter fraud a problem? mr. dunlevy: my family got a ballot to vote in the anchorage elections. there are bugs in the system that need to be worked out. in terms of fraud, you have an issue here in one of the dis

we should make sure all relevant witnesses are heard from, that all relevant information comes out. nothing swept under the rug because, mr. president, there is one other thing we can be pretty sure of. whether the information comes out now comes out later, it will come out. and we can even make sure we stop someone from getting on the court who shouldn't be on the court or we can find out later that us, the senate, didn't do its job. mr. president, i started as to look into whether judge kavanaugh assaulted when and whether the united states said it would listen to women sharing their experiences. it's still about that, very much so, but now it's about even more than that. it is about judge kavanaugh's temperament, his anger, his rage and entitlement. and it's about him telling the truth or not to the public and us here in the senate. so i say to my colleagues, as we learn more from this investigation and as more and more people come out to share stories, even if you don't think you can determine conclusively that judge kavanaugh committed sexual assault, do we want someone on the highest court in the land with this kind
