mr. dan weaver. >> good morning, supervisors. this is an area map of the c.b.d. basically we're along ocean avenue we also provide services to the city college campus there at the eastern end of the district. we have two very active committees, street life committee, focusing on activation of the retail district and the business committee, concerned with small business growth or attraction, growth and retention. this is a list of our partner organizations and non-profit sector. and our government partner organizations. in fiscal year '17-'18, o.a.a. secured non-assessment grant funding, which brought our -- this augments our assessment revenue to bring our total revenue to $429,511, enables us to conduct projects connected to our goals of marketing, beautification, maintenance, and cleaning. focusing on our largest budget item, maintenance, cleaning and safety, we've employed clean scapes, which provides street maintenance service six days a week. sidewalk and gutter, trash pick-up, pressure washing and cleaning and graffiti removal, when needed. an arborist now

mr. weaver is here to present. >> welcome back. thank you for being here and for your work. >> thank you. at our last meeting we adopted a motion. i will give you the text of that the sfmta c.a.c. recommends that because cable car passengers experience long wait times at the powell and market to turn around, line be promoted as an alternative for those passengers who wish to ride cable cars without regard to destination. we also had an interesting discussion with a representative of the m.t.a. district supervisorial district liaisons, and what tasks they do and how they relate to projects of specific liaison people who come into work with neighbors on particular projects, and what a nice, big, mess that can be, and people don't know what is going on often because, i'm not sure, but for whatever reason, we thought maybe it could be smoother if the regular liaison for a particular district also talked to all the people in the district about what was going on then and what projects were coming up in the future. so that's the basic pre

mr. speaker. i rise today to recognize ben weaver, owner of serve pro, a damaged restoration company in evansburg, pennsylvania, that specializes in fire, water and mold remediation. ben's an army national guard veteran who was recently named the western pennsylvania veteran-owned small business person of the year by the small business administration. i was pleased to be back in evansburg recently to present a commendation for this award. what started out as ben in one truck as his mobile office has become a growing company of 22 employees, a fleet of 20 trucks, and a 10,000 square-foot office building with a second office opening soon in indiana, pennsylvania. ben was able to launch his business thanks to the help of an s.b.a.-backed 7-a loan but he attributed his success to being active in his community. ben mentioned community is like a family. he said, quote, in the end people really want to do business with people they know, their extended family, end quotes. i applaud ben's dedication, he's certainly deserving of this award. thank you, mr. speaker, and i yield back the balance of my time. .
