mr. westmoreland: ron white has a saying and it says, you can't fix stupid. and so i guess that's the reason we can't fix the q. m. rule that has come from the cfpb because it's stupid. why would we not want to give a bank or a credit union the ability to loan somebody money when they're taking 100% of the responsibility for the person to pay back that loan? that's exactly what h.r. 1210 does. it says that a small bank or community bank or credit union -- i don't care who it is, willing to put up their own money to somebody they may know in their community that might have e the ability to credit otherwise to buy a that house. i had that personal experience. the only thing i had was a home. i went and paid about 13% interest and probably paid a number of points in closing to be able to open up my building business. and in doing that, i was able to do that. and i was able to pay back that loan. but had these rules been into effect, that would have been impossible to do. there are other americans and other people out there waiting to get their foothold in societ
