boomers retire will be at risk. the tax code has not kept pace with the modern economy.this is our chance to move in a different direction. i yield back. >> you are recognized. >> thank you, mrirman. what i find interesting in this discussion is this overly rosy belief that the tax cuts are going to pay for themselves through growth. and when we met the one time with the president, the first time that the democrats were invited to the table, they said that he predicted me to get up to six percent growth easily. and i asked him at that time, what if we do not hit the three percent projected growth rate? he did not have an answer. and i suspect my friends on the other side of the aisle do not have an answer for what happens if that does not materialize. i do have an answer. that means that we will go further and further into debt. on the wish for the hope for the prayer that our economy will grow at three percent or more for a sustained period of time. a projection with by the way, most economists is not possible under this plan. there is nothing in this bill that guarantees that our economy will grow by at least three percent yearly. so we should at least, at the very least,
