mr. schultz. mr. schultz was in charge of the university police.h the police, tantamount, discussion, mcqueary's with mr. schultz is tantamount to speaking to the police commissioner. so he did report. we'll end up seeing what twist and turns comes about as this case unfolds. jenna: one of the twists we heard from sandusky this week in an nbc interview and we heard from his lawyer, one of the things his lawyer insinuated hey, we actually found and identified some of the victims that the state can not. they're going to come out and say that this didn't happen. and i'm curious, what your gut is on that, kimberly, essentially? is this a strategy by his defense team? have they actually found the victims you think with a different story? what is your thinking on that? >> this is very typical in cases where you're dealing with relationships where people know one another, whether domestic violence, whether it is child abuse or child sexual assault cases defense teams especially when they have money in their pockets will go and try to locate your particula

mr. schultz, mr. curley, far lesser charges, the perjury, seven years, and the not reporting, really then a de minimis charge, three months. now let's look at the victims. is that enough for the victims? i say no. i think that the victims have a right here in the exact same way that they went against the catholic church. it's exactly the same kind of case. it's the kind of obstruction of justice. it's the kind of putting something under the rug that, as you can tell, makes my passions run really high. so the civil suits. well, you have civil suits against some very deep pockets here. because it's not only these individuals. it's everyone associated with penn state. that if they can show that by putting this under the rug, they chose the program, thomas. they chose to go forward and protect the football program and not go to the police. you've got a mighty civil suit indeed. they allowed an addlleged sexua predator to continue in his deeds which were evil beyond description for years. mighty sexual. >>

mr. schultz as far as what occurred that night.e has been cooperative with the investigators in this case. he is not regarded as a target at this point. >> over the weekend, paterno issued a statement. he said he did not understand the full extent of what took place in the shower. the statement says, and i read part of it, it was obvious that the witness was distraught over what he saw but at no time did he relate to me the very specific actions contained in the grand jury report. we could learn more from joe paterno tomorrow when is he expected to hold a news conference here on campus, shepard? >> shepard: lee, the prosecutors say the man charged here sandusky found his victims through a children's charity. >> not just any charity, shepard. it was the second mile foundation. it was a charity that he founded back in 1977. all of the victims, they say, came from that charity. let's talk very specifically about one of the victims that's mentioned in the grand jury report. victim identified as victim number 4. he was taken to a a bowl

wasserman schultz: mr. holt, i have a story i want to share. mr. holt: excluded from registration drives and other exclusions i'll talk about in a moment. i'll yield to the gentlelady. ms. wasserman schultz: we had the republican secretary of state in florida recently asked the attorney general to start assessing $50 fines for each of the 76 voter registration applications that were submitted by a high school teacher in santa rosa county. there was no indication of foul play. the applications were of individuals who appeared to be eligible florida voters. they were high school kids who were -- you know, 18 and were eligible to vote, but because florida has changed the law under the republican voter suppression law that requires registrations to be turned in within 48 hours and it used to be 10 days, this teacher got fined because she was trying to help her students registered to vote and didn't get them in under the new time limit. mr. holt: so i ask the lady, the gentlelady, how many other patriotic americans are going to be deterred from asking th

mr. schultz and mr.administrators, the athletic director and vp of finance, who oversaw university police as well, grand jury found they failed to report in 2002. in pennsylvania it's a third-degree misdemeanor. they have 48 hours from the time of the incident, both verbally and in writing, the institution has got to report that to welfare and to the police. they did not do that in 2002. grand jury cited them for that. and also a couple other criminal charges as well. >> so, with wendy, legally speaking when a crime is committed on campus, on private property, where do you draw the line between keeping it an on-campus security issue or taking it to authorities of city and state? >> well, there's no excuse just because it's a private environment not to comply with mandatory reporting laws. what pennsylvania provides, true in a lot of states and facilitates institutional kovups in schools all over the country is the law allows them to just have a designated person responsible for making the report. so if a
