tanner was not asked to sign a resignation letter and mr. brown was. we have no idea what her sort of criteria is. does she feel like ms. tanner will never disagree with her even if it's not her own personal belief to vote one way or another, but that mr. brown has an independent streak and that needs to be reigned in. i simply don't know. so, we are all being placed between a rock and hard place here. i have a question for the city attorney because like supervisors melgar, stefan and mandelman, i came here prepared to vote to confirm their appointment. if we voted them down because we are forced to vote on it today and if we understand the mayor's use in the past to request or not a resignation letter, could she then just reappoint them and then we could expeditiously bring them back to committee for a vote. >> you certainly could. you can bring them back to the planning. if you voted to not approve them, you can vote for them and send them through the process again. >> assuming she did expect them to be voted for. can she continue serving on the commi
