mr. thompson, mr. coed had a few problems we could do advocate spent three could spend three years getting ready for sts-1. we finished in 1975 and almost immediately started the learning process to bring the mod folks up to snuff on what they're going to be faced with. time went on and we started emulating and of course three years turned into six years before we finally did get in the air. during that time, we ran a lot of simulations. i think someone can attest to this. we ran about 500 plus launch simulations over a period of about three years and i think 499 of them -- in the real thing, the real one with like a charm. the stimulating system at jay oc was pretty crude when we started. as a matter of fact, the simulator crashed a lot more than the shuttle did. they could do just about anything. any time -- i don't think she has an audience, but one of the major players in training. she could bring the crew and the control center to their knees anytime she felt like it. usually once every week or so
