ms. bachmann, for joining us this morning. i hope we'll see you again down the trail. >> thank you, bob. >> schieffer: you may think you've been seeing a lot of republican candidates, but not as many as iowa republican congressman steve king. he has been campaigning with about all of them as they seek his support in next month's caucus. congressman king is also joining us this morning from des moines. congressman, you were there last night. who do you think won that debate? >> i could not pick a winner, bob. i walked in there and i looked at all the candidates on the stage. i kind of checked them mentally. i decided i liked them all. when the debate was over, i liked them all more. i did expect it would be a political "king of the hill" type of a debate with newt gingrich on top of the hill and romney fairly high up in the polls. i thought the shots would come from the wings. some of that happened. we'll see how much that resonates as this discussion goes through iowa. >> schieffer: you had said kind of the beginning of all of

ms. bachmann is going to do. i am just curious how she is going to do this alone. there is a house and senate there, you know. guest: that is a great point, but she has made a name for herself and washington as someone who does not take no for an answer. she has bought strong and hard for the issue she believes in. a lot of that is doing away with big government. she has stood up against her own party on several issues, and what she plans to do as president chris make sure that we have to bring both sides together. we have to bring republicans and democrats together, but ultimately she knows she is representing the people of this country, and she will have the will of the people at her side. whether or not the republicans or democrats want to stand there line -- stand around and draw a line in the sand, michele bachmann is going to do what the people want. we saw that with several issues that have come up over the past few years. people will flood members of congress e-mail and phone lines and certainly go to washington if necessary to let their voices be heard. ev
